EXCERPT on How to Self Publish on a Shoestring Budget
Chapter ONE - START WRITING!
The first step in doing anything that will bring you success is to actually start doing it! Don't put off tomorrow what you can do today. Don't talk about what you would have, could have or should have done, just do what you have to do to be successful now! If you follow through in your quest to success, you'll be surprised on how far you'll get by just doing it!
Make it a habit to write something EVERYDAY, even if it's just writing for ten minutes, JUST WRITE! ::))) In order to become a successful writer takes time, patience and commitment. As with anything, you have to spend time learning and perfecting your craft. "I'm still learning everyday." You also have to have patience, because working as a writer means that you have to be committed to your craft no matter what happens to distract you. Being committed means that no matter how many doors are closed in your face, or rejection slips you receive in your mailbox, you can never give up, nor can you ever accept no as being the only answer. Look at the word NO as only being the decision or opinion of one person. Therefore, keep searching for that one open door. The word NO has only made me a stronger individual, allowing me to move on to the quest of building my talents. The word no is the main reason I decided to put my money where my mouth was and self publish my own novel. I believe in myself and my talents, therefore, I don't need anyone to justify me or my abilities and you should think the same!
